1. Once you reach seoul, hop on to the airport coach bus to reach your hotel. Enquire with the information counter in the airport for the bus no that is nearest to ur hotel. The bus might not reach the doorstep of your hotel. But it is the cheapest way to travel from airport to your hotel very comfortably.
2. What is the cheapest branded goods in seoul which you must buy.. answer: MCM.
3. Best shopping area in seoul is none other than myeongdong. Travel by train and alight at euroji-1(exit 1). There you will find the duty free mall, lotte shopping mall where you can get all the branded stuff like MCM, ginseng powder, prada, etc, all under one roof.
4. Best local brands (located at myeongdong): spao, who.r.u (similar to abercombie), basic house, new balance shop.
5. Try the barberque meals.. order the beef, which is the most tender and delicious of all. Each meal will cost about sgd$30.. but it is worth it.
6. Grab all your toiletries and facial products at myeongdong with local brands like innisfii, faceshop, skinfood, etude house, etc. Do not think about getting it at the airport as they are so much more expensive and priced in usd.

Thats all folks .. for now. Will explore seoul again… it had become one of my fav holiday destination!

Time flies when you are busy.. It’s been one month anniversary in my new job. Working in a big company is really tough.. The competition and the diversity of the scope of work.. Getting to know each and every procedures which can be so confusing. Guess my learning process will be tougher than i thought. I wish i will havr the preservance and strength to continue to fight on and excel in whatever project assigned to me. Wish luck will always be with me.. God bless… I will survive with a smile!!

Counting down to the last month in my current Company before embarking my 3rd new job… For the past 4.5 years in the Company, I had learnt a lot including the different accounting standards, recommendation of improvement to processes and enjoy meeting people from all over the Asia Pacific countries. Within 4.5 years, I had the opportunity to visit 8 countries including, Malaysia (KL), Indonesia (Jarkarta), Tokyo, Philippines, Germany, Australia (Sydney), Hong Kong and India (New Dehli). As time draws near to bid goodbye, my heart gets heavier because it is really hard to part from the best US boss i ever had, my team-mate in Italy who also become my sister and me as her little brother, and all my friendly and caring colleagues met in all the countries who always welcome me with their warm smile and greetings which makes me feels like home whenever I visit them. The hospitality to bring me around the country, getting to know the different culture and treating me with nice cuisines and excellent food and making sure that I enjoy my stay and well taken care off is really priceless and memorable. As one said, ”you cannot stay in the comfort zone and must always go out into the wild and start to learn new things and expertise when you are still young.” Thats what I am going to do when I embark my new journey. Although it will be tougher, but I must always tell myself i can do it and endure it for a brighter future. Gambadatte-neh, Vincent!

My first leisure holiday this year (23rd to 27th June 2012) 5 days 4 nights in Bangkok is terrific. With a big strength of 5 of us including Nick, Dax, Leong, Sean and myself, we had tried the nice and cheap seafood in Rathechatewe BTS station (N1). of course shopping in Cha tut Chat weekend market, Platinum Mall, MBK- IT mall, and Siam Discovery centre- The Loft, a wonderful selection of gifts and exclusive stuffs. I also experienced the IMAX theatre in Siam Paragon (Baht 350) and watch the war of the warth in 3D and super big screen. It is a wonderful experience! In addition, we stayed in the most affordable and convenient hotel, i residence silom, which is just next to Chong Non si BTS. There is nothing more you can ask for when you are just paying SGD$57 per night for a twin sharing room and walkable to silom. It is indeed a well deserved and fun holiday.. i love BKK.. see you again soon in few months time or next year.

Next holiday (13th to 16th July) - Bali with my whole family… Looking forward to a well- relaxed holiday… Here i come!! (first time having two holidays within 30 days!)

Tips to travel in Germany

(1) You will have to pay EUR50 cents (equivalent to SGD $0.85) at least to go to the toilets in malls, fast food restaurants, public places and even the train stations. Be sure you have 50 cents with you as some places will not give you back the change. So be sure you pee at the hotel before heading out for a day of fun to avoid paying too much “toilet fee”. You will always find someone guarding at the toilet door.

(2) The tram in Germany rocks. The tram will arrive at your designated stop punctually because they will not encounter any traffic jams as they have designated tram lanes for travelling on the road. Be sure you wait at the tram stop at the specified time as per timetable as the tram waits for no one. Each tram ride will costs at least EUR $2.10 (up to 4 stops), normal price is EUR$2.40. You can purchase the ticket on the train itself as there are ticketing machines on the train and make sure you have coins with you as some machines only accept credit cards and coins.

(3) Remember to claim you tax refund if you purchase above EUR$100. You will be entitled to at least 10% -12% of tax refund depending on the shops. Be sure you have your item and receipt (attached with the claim form) with you on hand carry as you can only claim after you go through the customs. DO NOT CHECK-IN YOUR ITEMS! Be sure you pay in cash if you want immediate refund. A fee will be charged if you want to get immediate cash for a credit card payment for your tax refund.

(4) DO NOT TRAVEL WHEN GERMANY IS HAVING THEIR PUBLIC HOLIDAY. (Germany had at least 30 days of public holidays in a calendar year.) Be sure you check your calendar before you go. Because all shops, malls, some restaurants will be closed on public holidays as they do not need to earn your money during public holidays. It will be like a ghost town during public holidays.

(5) Cheapest food in Germany. Bread! You can buy nice breads at bakery for breakfast every morning with a nice big croissant costing EUR$0.80. They are really nicer than BREADTALK. Other food like pizza, burgers, pasta are also cheap.

(6) Branded goods are cheaper basically in Germany after you get back your tax rebate. So get ready your shopping mood and enter the Louis Vutton, Prada, Zegna.. Remember to get your tax refund.

That’s all the tips I can gather on my virgin trip in Europe visiting Germany- Dusseldorf, Neuss, and Cologne.

Oscars Fashion 2012:

This year’s oscar fashion had gone back to the basics with simple patterns and designs and the most popular colour worn by the actresses is black and white. Are they following the trend of the black and white movie, The artist, that won the best picture this year. The 4 picks above are the best dresses i picked for this year. (Surprisingly are all white and black)

First time at the Oscar together with Emma Stone, Milla Jovovich had chosen the shimmering and elegant white Elie Saab gown for her virgin prescence at the Oscars.

Sandra Bullock had done it again by chosing a very simple black and white Marchesa gown but added some nice touches by adding some gold and silver patterns are the waist and the shoulders. One of my fav!

Octavious Spencer, the newly crowned Best Supporting Actress, for her protray as Minnie the maid in the the Help, shimmered in a beautifully flattering white Tadashi Shoji creation.

Jessica Chastain, nominated for best supporting actress for her role in the Help, was the only one who wore the design from the late Alexandra Mc Queen that night. The black gown had a gold hand-embroidered bodice with flowers and leaves and nice patterns stole the limelight on the red carpet.

Taiwan movie has becoming more and more interesting … Kudos to all the Taiwan directors with their improving efforts in story line and of course.. the growing outstanding Taiwan actors and actresses.

“LOVE” a movie by Dou Director talking about 8 people with their perspective of finding love, losing love and getting to know love. With outstanding casts such as award winning actresses, Shu Qi and Vicki Zhao and Taiwan Heart trobes actors, Ethan Ruan, Mark Chao and Peng Yu Yan, all got the chance to show off their well built bod in the movie.

What is love?

Love can be between best friends who might betray each other, but come to realise all problems can be resolved and be forgiven afterall. (Story about Peng Yu Yan)

Money can’t buy love although it might give you luxious lifestyle and endless entertainment. But one have to stand up for yourself and be brave and love someone; which includes giving up everything and start from zero. (Story by Shu Qi and Ethan Ruan)

Love is about giving… giving care and concern to someone who needs it more than anyone. WHo knows.. it might change your life. (Story by Vicki and Mark Chao)

Although the story is really beyond reality.. but the acting from the outstanding casts makes me glue to the movie for 2hours with some touching and funny moments. Really entertaining movie and worth watching!

A treat for myself on my birthday… took a day off and went to the Artisque Gallery at Marina Mandarin Gallery. Saw this introduction on the tv one day and i told myself i must go and have a try to draw a painting. So making an appointment from 2.30pm to 5.30pm (within 3 hours) i finished a painting of the Australia’s Sydney Opera House with acrylic painting. I am so proud of myself to complete this painting after 10 years never touching the paint brush! haha.

The first awards of 2012… The ANNUAL GOLDEN GLOBES AWARDS… A night of rewarding the best performance of actors and actresses on tv and the big screen for the past one year.

Hosted for the third time, the funny man himself, Ricky Gervais, who still makes the ceremony interesting and funny but a bit toned down from last year since there are some bad reviews and criticism from viewers and had offended his fellow Hollywood friends. Some funny comments he made this year:

- Ricky: “Golden globes (with lotsof alcohol) vs Oscars (more grand) is like from Kim Kardashian to Princess Kate Middleton. “

- Ricky:”Eddie Murphy and Adam Sandler are so good in disguising as woman which might be disguising themselves within the crowd. Why not ask Eddie Murphy and Adam Sandler to act as all the roles in the movie “THE HELP”. “

- Ricky: ”Let’s welcome the next presenter . The Queen of Pop music…wait Elton.. please sit down. ..Not you. The girl who sings Material Girl and just like a virgin… (with a puke).. Madonna”

- Madonna :”Hey ricky, if I am still a virgin, why not you come up here and do something about it” WOW!!!

The winners for this year awards are not surprising at all which I think will win the Oscars too. Hands down to “The descendants” winning the best motion picture and best actor George Clooney and “The artist” winning the best comedy or musical category and best actor. It’s a tough fight between Meryl Streep (The Iron Lady) and Viola Davies (The Help) but as usual the lady (Meryl Streep) who won the most golden globes and Oscars win the race which might give her the confidence to win the most number of Oscars for the best actress in a leading role when the awards comes in February 2012.
